First Cruise of 2019
Thirteen club members in seven cars were brave enough to go on the annual Polar Bear Cruise on January 1st. We left from the West Plains Welcome Center and took a 35 mile ride up and down the back roads to Cabool. Our destination was the Garden Inn Truck Stop.
There was a lot of conversation and laughter during a nice lunch/brunch at the restaurant. All said they were enjoying the monthly jaunts to unique new places. We hope to see more there in March for the start of our cruise season.
Five cars with nine club members left the West Plains Welcome Center on March 16th under warm, sunny skies. We headed East on 160 past farmlands just starting to turn green. In Alton we picked up 19 and continued up and down over the hills through the Mark Twain National Forest. Near Winona we traveled on US 60 into Van Buren. We drove through town and stopped at the Springhouse Cafe. We were warmly greeted by the owner and enjoyed a nice lunch. Afterwards we stayed so pictures could be taken of the cars and drivers. Some headed home and others stayed to shop the antique store. A beautiful day and great ride.
